2024 marks a DECADE of DAPAA Scholarships and a new partnership with Clay County’s Career and Technical Education Program bringing an additional BRAND-NEW scholarship opportunity. Our goal is to help as many students as possible be able to further their education with the funds we receive throughout each year. We have no doubt that with YOUR application we can accomplish our goal tenfold.
ABOUT US: Defense Acquisition Professionals Alumni Association Jacksonville Chapter (DAPAA JAX) is a 501(c)3 non-profit and tax-exempt organization with affiliation with the defense acquisition professionals within the NE Florida and surrounding areas and with Thomas University and Clay County Chamber of Commerce. We support current and future workforce with Scholarships for STEM/Robotics/Aerospace/Business Leadership and our DoD Service members and families. This year we have partnered with Clay County’s Career and Technical Education Program to also offer a $2,000 scholarship to those graduating seniors who have participated or completed one of their programs, who are looking to continue their career development in their field of choice. Deadline is 1 May 2024.

DAPAA JAX Chapter Wayne Glass STEM Scholarship
Applicant must be a high school senior with course work toward STEM related curriculums. STEM is defined as Science, Technology, Engineering or Medical, Math or Manufacturing. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited university, college, community college for the fall semester of the year of application. Selectee receives an academic award for demonstrated academic and leadership achievement as well as significant community involvement. The $2000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit of academic excellence. Deadline is 31 May 2024.
DAPAA JAX Chapter Michael Dorohovich Business Leadership Scholarships
Applicant must be a high school senior with course work toward Business and Leadership related curriculums. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited university, college, community college for the fall semester of the year of application. Selectee receives an academic award for demonstrated academic and leadership achievement as well as significant community involvement. The $2000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit of academic excellence. Deadline is 31 May 2024.
DAPAA JAX Northeast Florida William “Bill” Bahnmaier Patriot Scholarship
The Patriot Scholarship awarded to deserving high school seniors whose parents are CURRENTLY serving on active duty in any branch of the military or the Florida Air National Guard who will continue their education after high school either at a college or university. This $2000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit in attaining a degree in a college degree field. This award is intended to supplement educational financial responsibilities and encourage recipients to continue their educational and career goals. Deadline is 31 May 2024.
DAPAA JAX Chapter BOD Duane W. Mallicoat Founders Scholarship
This Scholarship is established in honor of the DAU AA JAX Chapter Founders. Applicant must be a high school senior with course work toward STEM or Business and enrolled in an accredited university, college, community college for the fall semester of the year of application. Selectee receives an award for demonstrated academic and leadership achievement as well as significant community involvement. The award will take financial needs into consideration alone with other factors. Applicant must add additional information at the end of their essay as to justification of the financial or special need. The $3000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit of academic excellence. Deadline is 31 May 2024.
DAPAA JAX Chapter/Thomas University Educational Excellence Scholarship
This Scholarship is established in honor of the partnership between DAPAA and Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia. Applicant must be a high school senior with course work toward STEM or Business and be enrolled in Thomas University for the fall semester of the year of application. Selectee receives an award for demonstrated academic and leadership achievement as well as significant community involvement. The $3000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit of academic excellence and will be applied to the applicant’s course, books, and housing. The scholarship is RENEWABLE for each year student is enrolled in Thomas University. Deadline is 31 May 2024.
DAUAA JAX Elizabeth D. Nealin STEM Excellence Sustainment (SES) Scholarship
For SES/Nealin Undergraduate Scholarship, you must be currently enrolled in college as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an ABET accredited undergraduate program in engineering or other STEM field at a university, college, or community college for the fall semester of the year of application. Applicant must show a proven record of academic achievement via college transcript (may be official or unofficial) of 3.0 or better for engineering, science, technology, and math courses. Weighting will be applied to the number of STEM courses taken. Completed application shall consist of this form, an undergraduate transcript, and the two page essay. Applicant must prepare and submit a two-page max essay on the topic of “Why I chose to pursue an engineering/STEM career and what I hope to accomplish with my degree.”, you may also highlight any personal/financial challenges or barriers encountered. The $2000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit in attaining a degree in Engineering or another STEM field. The award is intended to supplement educational financial responsibilities and encourage recipients to continue in engineering/STEM despite potential obstacles. Deadline is 14 June 2024.

For SES/Nealin Graduate Scholarship, For SES/Nealin Graduate Scholarship, you must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program in engineering, medicine or other STEM field at a university or college, for the fall semester of the year of application. Applicant must show a proven record of academic achievement via graduate transcript (may be official or unofficial). Completed application shall consist of this form, graduate transcript, and the two page essay. Applicant must prepare and submit a two-page max essay on the topic of “Why I chose to pursue an engineering/STEM career and what I hope to accomplish with my degree.”, you may also highlight any personal/financial challenges or barriers encountered. The $2000 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit in attaining a degree in Engineering or Medical field. The award is intended to supplement educational financial responsibilities and encourage recipients to continue in graduate programs. Deadline is 14 June 2024.
