The DAPAA JAX Chapter is proud to add two more-chapter partners to our already existing partners those being Navy Marine Corps Relief Society Jacksonville, USO NAS JAX, Clay YMCA DYE, Clay Education Foundation, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The two new chapter sponsors are Thomas University located in Thomasville, Georgia, and Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
Thomas University: our sincere thanks go out to university president Andy Sheppard, and the two employees who have made this partnership quickly move forward Stephen Ferguson and Susan Backofen. Thomas University is a DAU Strategic Partner and has had several of their courses approved as DAU Certification equivalent courses. Thomas has taken over the training program and has added certification programs available to military and support elements of DoD. They also coordinate the chapter newsletter as well as the chapter website and come next September/October will be a major partner in the 2023 Fall DAPAA JAX Chapter Annual Symposium. Please check out Thomas University at www.thomasu.edu or give Stephen a call at (803) 586-1218 or (202) 821-7249.
Clay County Chamber of Commerce: Our partnership with the chamber is mainly focused on HS scholarships, and the Clay Educational Foundation where the chamber will partner with DAPAA JAX to raise funds to be used specifically for HS Scholarships for Clay County Graduating HS seniors. This could add 15-20 more scholarships in May/June 2023. The chamber will use the DAPAA Scholarship Selection application and WAR room for application review and selection and will join the DAPAA JAX Chapter Scholarship Winners Night Out with The Jumbo Shrimp each July. The partnership with the Clay County Educational Foundation will involve projects that can assist teachers to help them achieve the best possible from each of their students and thus allow DAPAA JAX to support the future workforce.
As you read this we will be reaching out to several other groups starting 1 October through our corporate sponsors and membership programs but if you have an idea of a potential partnership that we should reach out to please let us know by calling Duane Mallicoat at (301) 769-8206 or via email at [email protected].
