Congratulation To the Award Recipients!
After reviewing the many applications received, five students currently attending colleges and universities pursuing majors in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) have been selected to receive $1000 scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year.  The selection committee existed of the scholarship namesake, Elizabeth Nealin, DAUAA Jax Chapter Vice President Tony Canard, and DAUAA Jax Chapter member Grant Meadows.  The applications were scored based upon academic achievement in STEM courses completed, the level of community involvement of the applicants and reason for selecting a STEM career, and a needs assessment.  Academic achievement was determined by a review of the students’ transcripts while the community involvement and need was determined by a review of the essays submitted by the applicants. The winners are listed below in alphabetical order along with the school attending, major and class standing.  Congratulations to each of the winners.
