dauaajax.org LogoDEFENSE ACQUISITION ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (DAU AA JAX) has stood up a JACKSONVILLE CHAPTER that is modeled after other successful DAU AA chapters.  The Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association (DAUAA) is a national, non-profit association that provides continuing professional growth within the defense acquisition community and promotes DAU’s reputation as a world-class acquisition learning center.

  • DAU AA JAX goals and vision are in alignment with DAU Corporate:

DAUAA JAX Annouces 2 Summer Scholarships

The Elizabeth D. Nealin Engineering Excellence Sustainment (EES) DAUAA JACKSONVILLE Chapter Scholarship Program provides the recipient with an academic scholarship awarded annually for demonstrated academic and leadership achievement. The $500 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit (sustaining efforts) in attaining a degree in Engineering.  The award is meant to supplement educational financial responsibilities and encourage recipients to continue in engineering in spite of potential obstacles.  Deadline Aug 15, 2018.

Elizabeth “Liz” is the Research and Engineering Group Site Manager (4.0) at the Fleet Readiness Center Jacksonville and is currently responsible for all engineering activity at the In Service Support Center (ISSC) Jacksonville.  The ISSC is staffed with approximately 650 engineers and produces over $50 million of revenue each year.  The ISSC supports in service, modification and acquisition engineering for the following aircraft platforms: F/A-18, T-45, T-6, T34, T-44, F-5, EA-6B, P-3, P-8, E-6, MQ-4 and F-35.

Liz is an enthusiastic supporter of STEM education and participates both in her capacity as Director of Research & Engineering and privately in STEM activities in the local community as well as nationally.  ISSC Jacksonville teams have provided judges and mentors for regional science fairs, robotics clubs and classroom science enrichment.  Liz is also the Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association Jacksonville Chapter STEM coordinator, administering scholarship awards of $2500 yearly.

The Captain Chuck Stuart DAUAA JACKSONVILLE Chapter Scholarship Program scholar receives an academic scholarship awarded annually for demonstrated academic and leadership achievement as well as significant community involvement. The $500 scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s continued pursuit of academic excellence.  Deadline Aug 15, 2018.
Selection Criteria:
  • Parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of applicant, must be a current or Associate Member of the DAUAA JACKSONVILLE Chapter in good standing.
  • Must be a high school senior enrolled in an accredited university, college, community college, or trade school for the fall semester of the year of application.

Captain Stuart has a impressive military career, serving in various leadership positions.  In July 2015, Captain Stuart took command of Fleet Readiness Center Southeast as their 40th Commanding Officer.  While assigned to Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, Captain Stuart encouraged and supported the initial standup of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association, contributing to the initial success of the chapter.
